On Wednesday the 24th July 2024 we had a Ducklings Summer party for the kids at the school. We hadn’t organised one since before COVID!

It was a fantastic party attending by kids, staff, supporters and thankfully the weather just about held off. Included here are a few pics of the event.

So many thanks to all the volunteers that gave their time and helped make this day such a success… also to the performers (and the amazing Ice Cream from Poppy’s ice creams). Some of those involved were: Heroes Bringing Hope Foundation (with Superman and the amazing Spiderman), The East Midlands Garrison with Simon (Storm Trooper), Jayne (Jedi) and Alan (X-Wing Pilot), Freddie Wilkinson the Magician, our singers Steve McGill Steve McGill – Music, Frankie Tavoni, Steve Bloor and our very own Pete from the school.

Here are a few quotes from the day:

1. ‘This is the best festival you’ve ever had!”  – Mum who is regularly in hospital with her 8 yo son
2. “I love my sparkly tattoos, they make me feel happy” – 9 yo A, who was in for clinic
3.  “I don’t want to go yet!” – 4 yo J
4. One guest remarked ‘ is she a professional singer? She is amazing!’ Referring to Frankie one of our singers.
5. On having his picture taken with the Star Wars performers one young lad (only 6 1/2) said it was the best day of his life
